Private Piano Lessons

These lessons are for students 3 years & above.  Students will be introduced to music theory and explore application of music principles on the piano.  All lessons are taught with piano books which are required for class.  Keyboard/Piano at home is recommended for students to practice.  Casio keyboards are affordable and are good for beginner students who are just starting lessons.  However, Yamaha and KORG keyboards are better quality keyboards, especially for intermediate and advanced students.  All keyboards are required to have a minimum of 61 full-sized keys.  Please click here for Academy Class Schedule concerning book fee.  Students will also be trained for individual performance in preparation for our Winter Production and Spring Recital.  Awards will be given during Spring Recital.

Group Piano Class

  • These classes are for students 5 years & above.  Students will be introduced to music theory and explore application of music principles on the keyboard.  All lessons are taught with piano books, which are required for class.  This class is conducted just like a band class and children will get first-hand experience on learning how to play together as an orchestra and will perform in our Winter Production.  Students will also be trained for individual performance to participate in our Spring Recital.  Classes are taught weekly and conducted during the school year for the months of August through May.  Awards will be given at the end of the year during recital for their accomplishment.
  • There are some children who do not do well in class settings and would benefit more from private lessons.  If you feel your child is having trouble focusing or learning in a group setting, please contact Music On Wheels, LLC for information on private lessons.  Also, please understand that this class is for beginner piano students who have taken piano for one year or less.  If your child has taken this class for two or more years, your child will benefit more from private lessons.

Required Material for Piano(s)

Music Book(s) are required.  Please click Academy Class Schedule. Students are required to be prepared and bring their required material(s) to their lesson every week.  Headphones and Adapter Plugs are also required for class piano.

Guitar Lessons

These lessons are for students 7 years & above and are offered for beginners to advanced students.  Lessons are offered at our Music On Wheels Academy.  Students will learn proper hand technique, rhythm, and syncopation.  Students will be introduced to theory and will learn how to play chords, single note lines, and how to read guitar tablature.  Lessons are offered at Music On Wheels Academy.  Students will also be trained for Winter Production and Spring Recital.  Awards will be given during Recital.

Dance Classes

(Creative Movement, Contemporary, Lyrical, Urban Rhythm)

Creative Movement:  These classes are for students 5 – 9 years.  Students will learn the art of expression through creative movement.  Students will also be trained for individual performance in preparation for our Winter Production and Spring Recital.  Awards will be given during Spring Recital.

Attire Required for Creative Movement class is:  

  • Comfortable leggings and a t-shirt
  • Dance Shoes
  • Required costume rental fee for performances

Contemporary & Lyrical:  These classes are for students 8 years & above.  Students will learn the art of expression through contemporary & lyrical dance, which involves movement from a foundational style such as ballet, Jazz, Tap, and more.  The combinations of all styles help to make a dance phrase that flows together.  Students will also be trained for individual performance in preparation for our Winter Production and Spring Recital.  Awards will be given during Spring Recital.

Attire Required for Contemporary & Lyrical class is:  

  • Comfortable leggings and a t-shirt
  • Dance Shoes
  • Required costume rental fee for performances

Urban Rhythm:  These classes are for students 5 years & above.  Students will be taught the Fundamental Techniques of dancing using all forms of dance from Street dance (Hip Hop) to Jazz with an urban feel.  Students will also learn stage presence and how to connect with music in order to minister messages through dance, with power.  Students will also be trained for individual performance in preparation for our Winter production and Spring Recital.  Awards will be given during Spring Recital.

Attire Required for Urban Rhythm is:

  • Sweat pants and a t-shirt

These classes are offered at Music On Wheels Academy.  Students will learn technique and presentation while ushering in the presence of God.  Please click here for Academy Class Schedule/Supply Fee.

String Lessons

(Violin, Viola, and Cello)

Group Class:  These classes are offered at our Music On Wheels Academy.  This is an introductory string class consisting of two to ten students.  Students will be trained in preparation for performances, Winter Production, and Spring Recital.  This class will be a combination of instruments (violin, viola, and cello) where students will learn basic techniques:

  1. How to hold instrument and bow
  2. Music Theory (note reading and rhythm)
  3. Performance Technique
  4. Group Ensemble Piece
  • Private String Lesson:  This is offered at our Music On Wheels Academy.  These individualized lessons are offered for beginners to advanced students.  Beginner lesson is half an hour long.  Intermediate and advanced level student’s lessons are 45 minutes or an hour in length.  Private lesson consist of:
  1. Warm-up/Scales
  2. String Technique and bowing
  3. Note Reading/Theory
  4. Listening Skills
  5. Performance Piece

Students will also be trained for individual performance in preparation for our Winter Production and Spring Recital. Awards will be given during Spring Recital. Audition Preparation is offered to intermediate and advanced students for festival, Allstate Orchestra, Georgia Youth Orchestra, Atlanta Youth Orchestra, Music Summer Intensives, and many more.

Voice Lessons

Vocal study is vital for the success of those seeking to sing professionally. Students will gain confidence in their ability to sing through learning theory and techniques to expand range, learn expression, and increase power in voice.  Students will also experience vocal performance through skits, plays, and recitals that will enhance their growth as a professional singer. Students will be trained for individual performance in preparation for our Winter Production and Spring Recital.  Awards will be given during Spring Recital.

Drum Lessons

Students will learn the art of drumming through application of musical techniques that involve body posture, how to read sheet music, rhythm, use of sticks, and theory in understanding the performance of the “Drum Set”.  All lessons are taught with worksheets and a book that is required for class.  See teacher concerning required materials.  Students will also be trained for preparation of the Winter Production and Spring Recital.  Awards will be given during the Spring Recital.

Theatre Classes

Theatre classes are held at our Music On Wheels Academy.  Students will learn the art of acting through stage and camera.  Our classes and productions involve skits, plays, and musicals relevant to building self-esteem, discipline, and critical thinking skills for everyday conflicts in life that children may experience.

Student Performance Workshop

This class is held exclusively at the Music On Wheels Academy.  This class is offered once per month(4th Sunday of each month) in addition to weekly class lessons as a workshop where students learn further theory, instrument performance, and prepare for the Winter Production.  This workshop includes the entire Music On Wheels Academy student body throughout Metro Atlanta.  Industry professionals will be conducting this workshop.

Parent Meeting

Music On Wheels Academy will have parent meetings twice per year to answer any questions and concerns parents may have, as well as to discuss the progress of the children.   Meetings will be scheduled the second week in November and March of each year at the Music On Wheels Academy.  Please see separate calendar for date and time.  Please click here for dates.
