David Burroughs, professionally known as SouthsidePoēt, is an emerging rapper from Atlanta, Georgia. With a unique blend of spiritual themes and powerful lyricism, SouthsidePoēt aims to inspire and transform the minds of his listeners. Drawing on his upbringing in the church, he seeks to guide others on their life journeys, sharing wisdom and insights through his music.
From a young age, SouthsidePoēt has been deeply immersed in the music scene, thanks to his parents’ ownership of a music school. His early years were marked by diverse experiences in the performing arts, including piano, drums, voice, theater, dance, and violin. These formative experiences eventually led him to his true passion: rap music.
Influenced by the artistry of Kendrick Lamar, Lecrae, and Outkast, SouthsidePoēt has dedicated himself to creating impactful music. His goal is to be a driving force in the new generation of rappers, using his talent and faith to make a positive difference in the world.
