Instructor
Julian St. James is a versatile educator and multi-instrumentalist who has devoted himself to music for over 10 years. He is most proficient in Guitar, Bass, and Piano, and offers private lessons to students of all ages who wish to learn those instruments. Originally from the Washington, D.C. area, Julian grew up playing music in church, and played first chair saxophone for James Hubert Blake Arts High School before receiving a scholarship to the University of Maryland. He credits his 11th and 12th grade music teachers for helping to cultivate and develop his love for music, particularly the piano. Mr. St. James attended the University of Maryland before transferring to Montgomery College to complete his undergraduate degree. He performs regularly at Apache Lounge in Atlanta and plays at Freedom Movement Church as a bassist and occasionally as a pianist. Most notably, he was sponsored by Remy Martin and Live Nation to work with Big Sean and DJ Mustard in LA after winning a music competition in New York City. Julian began his career as an educator by teaching in Washington, D.C., at inner city schools. He soon began giving private music lessons and quickly found that he enjoyed being able to give his students individualized, one-on-one attention and instruction. Julian makes it his personal mission to help his students' musical interests develop in a fun and exciting way, from learning the melodies from their favorite shows and movies to jumping and clapping to learn rhythm
